Product Update: DocuNECT and Documentum ApplicationXtender

Portford has extended the integration with Documentum's ApplicationXtender (AX) product, adding the following features:

• The distribution from DocuNECT to AX support multiple indexes per document
• COLD documents can now be exported along with image and foreign file documents
• Documents can be exported from an AX search, a saved query. In addition DocuNECT will update an index value to keep track of the documents as they are being exported

Important Product Updates

The anticipated end of life for ApplicationXtender version 5.4x is December 31st, 2010. As mentioned in previous announcements, the end of life for ApplicationXtender version 5.3x was on June 30th 2009. The next update to ApplicationXtender will be version 6.5 instead of the previously announced version 6.0 Service Pack 1. Please make sure to contact Portford to make arrangements to upgrade and ensure uninterrupted support services. The availability of the following software versions have been announced or forecasted:

- ApplicationXtender v6.5 (expected by March 31st 2010)
- ApplicationXtender Workflow Manager Concurrent Licensing (expected by March 31st 2010)
- Information Rights Management for ApplicationXtender (expected by March 31st 2010)
- Quickscan Pro v4.7 (Including Sharepoint Export - now available on EMC.com)
- Documentum 6.5 SP2 (now available)
- Documentum CenterStage (limited release)
- Captiva CaptureFlow Designer for IA 6.0 SP1 (now available)
- DocuNECT 4.2 (now available)
- Kofax Capture 9.0
- Kofax Express 2.0

Kofax 9 Released

In January, Kofax announced the release of the latest version of it's popular Capture software, formerly know as Ascent Capture. Capture is commonly used to scan, index, and distribute documents in to ApplicationXtender and Documentum. The following are among the features available in Capture 9.0:

• Remote Site High Availability. Provides automatic fail over for remote site licensing resulting in increased reliability and business continuity
• Additional Recognition Language Support. Now supporting Simplified Chinese (Simplified and Traditional, Thai, Japanese, Korean, Hebrew, and Yiddish to accommodate globalization
• Automatic Customization Deployment. Makes it easier to deploy and install Kofax Capture customizations to stations and remote sites to reduce deployment and support costs
• MSI Based Installer. Ability to choose to use either setup.exe installer or new .MSI based installer to easily deploy and manage Kofax Capture software and patches
• Multiple Administration Module Users. Allows multiple users to simultaneously access the Administration module to minimize configuration and deployment costs
• PDF Versioning. Allows you to select the PDF output format version to ensure that the PDF output format that is compliant with corporate standards
• Report Viewer on Servers. Allows the use of Report Viewer on servers for simplified administration
• Batch Class Update. Update the batch class for current batches providing flexibility to correct issues found in production requiring batch class changes without rescanning the batch
• .NET Versions of Database and Text Export Connectors. Database and text export connectors are .NET based to leverage the latest development tools from Microsoft. Easily customized using standard tools
• Document Routing. Custom module API’s to split a batch into sub batches. Enables routing of individual documents to specific operators.You may also route documents to specific operators to accommodate parallel processing of large batches
• Microsoft Windows 7 Certification. Support for the latest Microsoft operating systems
