Email can be a very effective document capture method because it provides a familiar interface for customers and/or vendors to send documents directly into a document management process. DocuNECT provides three key benefits/features that can help automate this process:

1. Manage / Filter your E Mails - DocuNECT can filter documents based on business rules so you can make sure that only documents you are expecting make it to your document management system.
2. Combine Attachments / PDF Rendering - DocuNECT can render multiple email attachments in different formats to one PDF format. The email body can either be placed at the front or the back of the PDF document. This allows the email and associated attachments to delivered to the document management system as one document.
3. Extract Data - DocuNECT's data extraction engine can be use to extract information from the email body or any of the attachments for auto-indexing of the documents.

Integrate DocuSign Fetch With Your Document Management System using DocuNECT

DocuSign (https://www.docusign.com) lets you sign documents electronically and easily send documents for electronic signature in just minutes. Whether you’re in an office, at home, on-the-go—or even across the globe. It’s safe, secure, and legally binding. DocuNECT can now import documents received/distributed by DocuSign Fetch for import into your document management system. The DocuSign signature package is sent back to the originating organization in a ZIP file format that contains the original document and the signature object both in PDF format. DocuNECT can extract the PDFs from the ZIP, combine them by placing the signature page at the back or the front of the document. The document can then be archived into your document management system for future reference. EMC Has Announced the Release of ApplicationXtender v7.0

EMC has announced the release of ApplicationXtender (AX) v7.0. The following table provides an overview of the new features:

Feature	Description
New Full-Text Search Engine	In this release of AX, users can perform full-text index and full-text search with EMC Documentum xPlore. Users submit documents to the ApplicationXtender Index Agent for full-text indexing through ApplicationXtender Document Manager, ApplicationXtender Web Access.NET, or ApplicationXtender Web Services. The full-text search directly searches the full-text information using the xPlore engine. This new module is a replacement to the Verity full-text engine. 1. Powerful search functionality. 2. Perform advanced searches without complex search syntax, including typos, thesaurus, stemming, proximity, and wildcard searches. 3. Search more than 200 file formats out of the box. 4. Provide role-based user access to ensure appropriate access to information.
Future-Proofed for the Next Decade	AX 7.0 is now certified with the following technologies: 1. AX Web Access and xPlore will run on a Microsoft Windows 64 bit platform. 2. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and the latest versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer are now supported. 3. AX now supports Microsoft Windows 8.0/8.1 and Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2.

Support Bulletin: DocuNECT Image Viewer and Java v7 update 45

The DocuNECT image viewer is written in Java and up until the latest release of Java there have been no incompatibility issues. However, we have identified an issue with Java v7 update 45.

Java, now developed by Oracle, has made changes to its security model which is causing incompatibilities with our viewer. We have recently resolved the issue in DocuNECT v4.7.1.1 and have patches available for previous versions of DocuNECT.

DocuNECT v4.7 Now Released!

We are pleased to announce the release of DocuNECT v4.7. The following table provide some of the highlights of v4.7, but for a complete list of features in the release please refer to the release notes on our software site. To access the help, visit the DocuNECT Wiki.

Feature	Description
Performance Enhancements	This release provides numerous performance enhancements to manage document and user volumes. This release also increases the throughput of document import.
Security Enhancements	1. Increased encryption levels for added security. 2. Strong passwords can now be enforced for DocuNECT security. 3. Invalid user login attempts are logged. 4. Stores/displays the last time a user logged into DocuNECT. 5. Users can be prompted to change their password when logging in for the first time. 6. Improved Single Sign On (SSO) with Active Directory users. 7. Password resets can now be disabled.
Compatibility/Administration Enhancement	1. Multiple internet browsers are now supported. 2. Support for Microsoft Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012 environments. 3. Client tools now supports Microsoft Windows 8. 4. DocuNECT now supports a 64 bit server environment. 5. DocuNECT Client tools can now be installed and configured via command-line to allow it to be easily rolled out to desktops.
User Interface Enhancements	1. A "quick start" configuration option has been added to the web to guide you through the configuration process after install. 2. Page rotation now built into the viewer. 3. Action button now replaces the "right-hand" mouse click menu allow the options to be used on tablets. 4. Index values in cabinets now have selectable format masks, support decimal places. 5. Sticky fields can be either Applied to Next Document, or the Whole Batch. 6. Index values can be read-only and/or hidden. 7. Lifecycle definitions allow document ownership to be defined, as well as a document version number. 8. A automatic timestamp index value option has been added. 9. Documents now support a document owner. 10. The batch report can now be customized and is available in the web and the client tools.
